In the late summer of 2003, during an “vacation” in the desert of Utah, the entity known as “Skribe DaGod” first took total control of this vessel. After a short transitional faze his name RAS TEHUTI TAFARI was realized. An entity of energy ancient in age, versed in the truths of Rastafari Teachings, The Kemmitic Mysteries, Street Pharmacists, GD Family, Vodoo Music, The Struggle, Long Welfare Lines, Ni**a Shit, Baby Making, and so on…

THE RHYTHM GENERAL
Aaron Hughes is a world-class drum set player and composer. His prolific output of compositions, recordings and publications continue to impact audiences across the United States and abroad. Born in Rochester, NY Aaron began playing and performing at the young age of 7. He studied classical piano and drums as a child. In high school and first years of college he studied classical percussion and Jazz Drumming. While in Rochester, NY, Aaron studied with Rich Thompson His natural instinct for improvisation led Aaron to New York University. There he sought tutelage of the renowned drummers Dafnis Prieto (2011 MacAurthur Genius Award winner for Music), Billy Drummond, and Antonio Sanchez. Aaron has written many original compositions featuring trios and other small group configurations, as well as postmodern charts for jazz orchestras, which helped him win 2007’s Dreams Across America Award for composition. Aaron has had many commissions to write for large ensembles such as jazz orchestras, full orchestras and most recently, wind ensemble, choir and string quartet (commissioned by New York University). Several outstanding musical partnerships began in the 2000’s. Aaron has performed with many critically acclaimed musicians such as; Brian Lynch (2007 Latin Grammy Award Winner), Tony Malaby, Memo Acevado, Kenny Werner, John Scofield, Billy Drews, The Village Vanguard Orchestra, Joe Lavano, Ralph Lallama, Lenny Pinckett,George Garzone, PeeWee Ellis, and Ron Mclure . Aaron has performed at esteemed venues such as; The Blue Note ( Manhattan), The Village Vanguard, Smalls Jazz Club, The Knitting Factory, and Sugar Hill Jazz Club. He has performed at various festivals including the Brooklyn Jazz Festival, Ottawa International Jazz Festival, Telluride international bluegrass festival, the Rochester International Jazz Festival, the Buffalo Jazz Festival, the Syracuse Blues Festival and the Finger Lakes Wine and Music Festival.
Ekwem AKA Beetjuice

Ekwem has lent his skills to many bands in Upstate NY. Mosaic Foundation and Easy Star All Stars are just a couple of the dope bands he has been a part of. He has also played at home and abroad as Beet Ju1c3 which is his solo project which is described as tonic inter-phase dimensional travel via Ancient Africa. He harnesses his infinite swagger to provide cosmic stylings and provides the richest and most buttery tones imaginable. It’s Soothing, Smooth and Funky at the same time. Turntables, Science & Composition
Dj 2way has propagated real Hip Hop and provided beats and recorded tracks with Emcees for well over a decade. He created and worked as Diverse Mindz Productions with several other aspiring artists. DMP was a roster of talented and up and coming Emcees and Producers from the area that made up a nice collective. Under that banner Dj 2way hosted and put out several mixtapes. Skribe Da God was the standout artist and Emcee from the group. Subject matter was moving towards a more conscious and spiritual reflection. Diverse Mindz Productions would soon be known as Level 7 Hip Hop. As time went on he fully produced an album with SkribeDaGod and that pairing was known as Level 7. Dj 2way put focus on Dj’n for SkribeDaGod just as the Level 7 album came out and the stage duo would also be known as Level 7. They proceeded to tear up the stage all over the region. Dj 2way is known for his 90’s style Hip Hop beats, Holding it down behind the turntables, boards and being part of all things dope. Don’t sleep on Senor Dose.
